-BRIEF INTRODUCTION

History Of The Rotary Club Of Port Harcourt Airfield

On the 20th day of May, 2014,

The Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Airfield was chartered with 34 members. The club was chartered by the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt with Nma Phil Onuigbo as the Charter President, Ferdinand Banigo as the District Governor Special Representative (DGSR), Virginia Major was the Assistant Governor Zone 21 to which the club belonged and Prof Charles Onianwa was the District Governor.

The Club met by 6pm every Wednesday at Novotel Hotel, moved to Voyage Ranch Hotel before moving to its present venue at Casoni International Hotels and Suites, off Stadium road.

LEADERSHIP BEYOND CLUB LEVEL

Some of our past Presidents and club members have gone ahead to serve at the District level and currently District Governor Elect and the District Membership Chair are Past Presidents of the club.

SERVICE PROJECTS

We have continuously executed impactful Community and Vocational Service projects in all the areas of focus. Worthy to mention is our Sickle Cell Awareness project which won us the most passionate project in 2015/2016 Rotary year and our signature Inter-Secondary School Mathematics Competition project which has several times won us best project Award.
